Hi,
I heard about SEO a few weeks ago and could not find a good book on it. Could you please suggest a good book and possible link to buy it.
SEO is something that changes constantly. You must constantly keep up to date with it. SEO book can be a very good read, but in most cases it can become obsolete in a few months. You should better consider some professional membership SEO website. I can suggest you reading some free articles for a start.
I dont know about maine IT and web designing designers companies in Delhi/Ncr but had a talk with Mr Aditya and Mr Vijendra and it was a wonderful experiance talking to them. The insight and the truth which i came to know about Web designing in delhi was phinominal and the knowledge these people had was above anybody’s expectations. Do anyone else had a chance to meet these people or experienced their services?
Well We are already a client of Justgoweb.com the company was run by Aditya Khanna but who is Vijendra
Can anyone recommend a search engine optimisation company based on their own experience? What did it cost? Has it paid off? Did you use ppc ads before?
PPC ads are the most effective and best way , since you know your dealing with reputable company (Google, Yahoo etc) , you can control the amount and fine tune the campaign.
Most the SEO companies out there most are are just playing up their abilities, the reason is unless you are the search engine itself, there’s no way you can guarantee positioning, its just impossible ( to prove my point , find a company that will agree to only get paid if they will get you a promised position for a promised keyword, none will because they cant offer that), . So you would be paying for an educated guess at best.
Save yourself some bucks, and use tried and true methods to get a good position. The golden rules of good SEO are rich , relevant content on your page(s) (ie. more text , lest Flash), with many (thousands) or inbound link form reputable sites (.edu and .gov are best) , followed by clear user navigation , and frequent site /content change(s), plus facotr in a few months for your site to bubble to the top of the list ..
Good luck
Do the WCAG 2.0 guidelines make your website better optimised for search engines?
It won’t hurt. In particular ‘Provide text alternatives for any non-text content’ will help as this will enable search engines to index non-text based content such as images and Flash which will help with search engine optimisation. Generally, these guidelines are geared towards helping people not search spiders and so largely they are irrelevant – but if the time is taken to ensure that the content is accessible by all people, then it’s very likely that it will be accessible by search engines too.
there are too many seo companies but from my experience i being told that the best way to handle this seo things is to understand it first before hiring anybody for that purpose. for that reason it suggest you learn from below resources first. what is seo actually. how it can benefit your site. below resources is free audio seo mini courses. i really believe this guy know a lot about seo. so why not you learn from him too. hope it helps a bit.

what is search engine optimisation?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it "ranks", the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.
As a marketing strategy for increasing a site’s relevance, SEO considers how search algorithms work and what people search for. SEO efforts may involve a site’s coding, presentation, and structure, as well as fixing problems that could prevent search engine indexing programs from fully spidering a site. Other, more noticeable efforts may include adding unique content to a site, ensuring that content is easily indexed by search engine robots, and making the site more appealing to users. Another class of techniques, known as "Black Hat" SEO or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that tend to harm search engine user experience. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques and may remove their listings.
I have a website which is in development. It will be a pretty big website overall. Does anyone know about companies that offer SEO (Search Engine optimisation) and what are the price ranges for that? I have seen many who say they will train your employees for that, but i am looking to subscribe to someone who will manage the SEO for my website. What kind of prices does one pay for such services?
You’ll find there are roughly four types of SEO service:
Something that costs a few hundred $/£ per year. Steer clear of that, because you won’t be getting any value for your money – it’s too cheap, and the chances are the company will do very little beyond submitting your site to search engines (something which isn’t actually a great idea anyway), if they do anything at all.
Next up are companies which offer a sort of monthly management scheme, where they do a bit of SEO and other internet marketing as well as generally looking after your site every month. In my experience, this is around £200/$300 per month. It’s okay if you’re not in a demanding market, but generally not a sufficiently dedicated SEO programme to give new sites the push they need.
Then there is dedicated SEO consultancy, for which you can pay through the nose for if you want the best; you can expect to pay up to £300/$500 per hour for the top notch SEO consultants. You might also find some who will take you on on a monthly retainer, probably around £600/$1000 per month, for which you will be able to talk to them at any time and get a constant flow of advice.
Finally you can outsource different bits of your SEO out to different companies who have more expertise in one area. This works best in conjunction with some form of consultancy so you know what you need. Again, costs will vary according to the quality and reputation of the provider. For example, you could hire a linkbuilding team in India extremely cheaply, or you could pay thousands for the creme de la creme of linkbuilders.
By the way, in my opinion you DO need SEO consultancy before and during your site development, otherwise you will end up having to change things which just adds more cost. This way, the consultant will also be able to tell you what kind of future promotion your market will require : it might even be something you could do yourself with a couple of books, or it might well require a large investment in ongoing SEO from a professional.
There are plenty of companies and individuals out there, just keep looking. And if you don’t find anyone, well there’s always me!
Sorry, after writing so much I felt I deserved a small pitch
Ideally, you want to transition away from PPC and move to organic search results. SEO can help you do just that – saving you a lot of money in the long run. PPC is great for jump-starting a campaign.
I’m marketing a website we’re launching in a couple of months time and trying to think of as many ways as possible to drive traffic to it.
I know that by having keywords in the content is one of the most important elements for crawler search-engines. I was wondering if having a drop-down list of all the keywords that someone might search the site by in the site-search facility (so long as they have an article to link to) will help. Or will search engines discount such a way of displaying all the keywords?
Search engines work on complex algorithmic formulas and calculations which ultimately determine the quality user experience that a web browser will experience when navigating to your site.
You will however get ‘penalized’ or sent to the back of the line when you spam on too many keywords on to your site-they call this keyword density- and a good percentage to go for is usually around 7% keyword density.
Using a scroll down menu with your keywords is not a bad idea as long as the page or article which it links to is highly targeted or ‘relevant’ and does not appear as ‘tacky’.
Use phrases: if your keyword is "widgets" use stuff like "green widgets" or "widgets in red" etc… u get the idea.
Hope this helps,
